Healing Collective Financial Trauma:
Breaking Financial Taboo.
Uncovering Lies.
Creating Financial Freedom.
One of the big lies sitting in the middle of our capitalistic culture is that our personal financial pictures are only made up of money and numbers. If you believe this and you’re having financial issues, then you’re missing large puzzle pieces to your money relationship, especially the one about the mind, body, spirit connection with money. And especially this one:
The financial information we hold in the DNA of our bodies
directly affects and informs our financial lives.
How do I know this? From a long and winding road of life that landed me in the middle of a Spiritual Financial Intervention, after a great tragedy, that gave me direct and experiential information showing me how the financial stories of our lives vibrate in the complexity of our DNA.
Am I causing good trouble along the way? Absolutely! Given that I’m breaking multiple cultural financial rules in both the business community and the spiritual community, I’m causing friction. Why? Because I’m openly and courageously challenging old spiritual taboo and old business taboo that’s rooted in our Witch Wounds dating back to the 1400-to-nearly-1800 witch hunting era in Europe that bled over to the New Colonies.
How Old Witch Wounds Damage Modern Money. These old beliefs held that womens’ magical powers were dangerous, and the foundation of patriarchal society at the time demonized women and especially demonized women with the gifts of psychic insight, holistic healing, herbalism, midwifery, tarot, divination and speaking with spirits. Women with these gifts were seen as a threat to society, especially the all-male religious pulpits, when only men were allowed to speak on behalf of God. Meanwhile, gifted women were regularly burned, hung, tortured, imprisoned and drowned, often without a trial. Millions died.
This distrust cultivates inner stigmas against your own magical feminine,
and culminates in how you create outer prejudice and discrimination
against empowered women of the magical arts.
At the root, it disallows you from connecting
with your inner Sacred Feminine, inner magic and inner money,
in an empowered triad of inner financial power.
How Poverty/Chastity Contracts Damage Modern Money. Simultaneously, the church was busy creating chastity and poverty contracts for it’s congregation, priests and nuns. By Christian codes, the only way to you could get close to God was to be pure. Pure of evils, which were the assumed evils of sex and money. This also set a dangerous precedent in the spiritual community that, not only could you be hunted down and killed for your spiritual gifts, but you also had to practice a pure form of money-lessness as possible. These soul contracts have also lived in our bodies down through the ages dictating our financial health.
And this has been the heart of my body-based money relationship mission . . . until George Floyd was murdered. For the deep mission dive, read on.

Stepping Up the Somatic Money Mission in 2020 —
In Dedication to George Floyd & Breonna Taylor.
When the country and world erupted in global protests in the wake of George Floyd’s murder, bringing Breonna Taylor’s murder to light, I was sequestered from COVID on the Colorado Western Slope with my ex-husband. We were far from the big city protests. I cannot tell you how frustrating this was for me. I was fit to be tied.
So, one morning after my frustration bubbled over watching numerous protest videos, I set aside my coaching work for the day and dove into researching the financial services’ industy hiring demographics. Yes, it was a nerdy, autistic response, but the work proved fruitful. After several days of madly searching, typing, printing and organizing, I had my first set of numbers and I was horrified. HORRIFIED. (The results of this work are written up in Shattering the Toxic Financial Patriarchy, housed in the Somatic Money Super Bundle).
What I learned, overall, is that aside from diversity hiring in the entry-level, lower and mid-management positions, the majority of financial services industry power positions are still dominated by the white privileged male. Everywhere. Which means white males are predominately creating, shaping and deciding our financial policies — locally, regionally, nationally and even globally.
This helped me understand why we keep running into cultural financial walls when it comes to financial diversity in our country. It also helped me understand why I’m such a lone female wolf advocating for holistic financial practices in an ocean of logic-driven, masculine-oriented money practices that go largely unquestioned.
After, I walked around in shock for days repeating, “No wonder. OMG. No wonder. OMG. No wonder.”
After the shock wore off, I began to feel a “tick” in my soul. It was like walking around with in “itch” that I couldn’t locate. Something needed connective attention that I wasn’t seeing. And it bugged me. Finally, I sat down and looked at the demographic numbers again, and then I turned and looked at, what I now understand, is my financial anthropological work with client financial data. And this is what I realized in another shock wave.
The majority of my clients are white women, then men and women of color, with a healthy dose of members of the LGBTQIA community sprinkled through this continuum. Conversely, it is rare for a straight white privileged male to seek my services. Most times, the straight white privileged males either want to heckle/gaslight me, hit on me or capitalize on me — or they are sent by their wives who want me to “sort them out.” It is rare that they are truly interest, understanding or in need of my services.
But then I began looking at the individual financial anthropological data and this is what I summarized. The people who arrived on my doorstep always showed up with these patterns of financial trauma:
- Women recovering from workplace misogyny as well as sexual harassment and/or sexual assault to improve their financial lives.
– - Peoples of diverse skin tones mitigating the racism they experience in their work and money so they can improve their finances.
– - Members of the LGBTQIA community finally connecting the dots between embracing their identities, in-spite of homophobia, and the financial issues this causes to locate themselves in the middle of their numbers for healthier money relationship.
– - Creatives, healers, intuitives and highly sensitive people coming to terms with age-old Witch Wounding and what it means to be financially functional as a soft-sided money person in a logic-driven capitalistic society.
– - Even those in AA recovery finding connection between Somatic Money practices and their 12 Steps to make a financial difference in their lives!
